About
Christchurch born and based. Family-run. On the tools every day.

Mana Scaffolding is owned by Terry Pohatu and Keith Timmins, who started the business in late 2019. Between them they bring more than 45 years of scaffolding experience to every Canterbury job — Terry handles design, Keith runs operations.
Terry started scaffolding at 17, working five years in NZ before eight years in Vancouver and three in the Alberta oil fields — delivering scope through the 2010 Winter Olympics and Crankworx Whistler along the way. Keith hails from Wolverhampton in the UK and brought 20 years of British scaffolding experience with him when he came to NZ in 2016.
They met working for another scaffold company in Christchurch, and when the chance came up to buy a business in late 2019, they took it. Today Mana delivers residential, commercial, events and specialist scaffolding right across Canterbury.
Signature project
In November 2020 Mana was hand-picked to build the platform for the global Xbox console launch on the Queenstown waterfront. A 10-metre temporary structure rising straight out of Lake Wakatipu — supported by a scaffold rig anchored to nine one-tonne concrete blocks on the lakebed, then shrink-wrapped to create the projection surface for the game-play visuals.
It's the kind of brief most scaffolders never see. We took it on, designed it, and delivered it — under NDA, on the water, on time.

Every scaffold built to NZ standards. Fully insured.
